Jacquard
Jacquard woven fabrics have beautiful and intricate patterns due to its high number of hooks in the machinery. These fabrics can be used for upholstery, home textiles, décor or even apparels.
During this project, I selected Turkish art and traditional practices as my themes and inspiration of forms and styles. This  includes the ebru marbling art, carpet making  and the famed iznik pottery.

After the design was placed on the graph, stepping was done. Then the weave pattern was plotted in.
This graph is the notation to be used for the punch cards in the jacquard machine.
Then the process of weaving begins.
